The honest legal position first

Taiwan does not currently have a dedicated statute that mandates cookie consent for ordinary websites. The banner you saw (or will see) at the bottom of the page is therefore this site’s own practice, not a compliance requirement imposed by Taiwanese law. We run it because we would rather state our behaviour plainly than stay silent about it.

What cookies and local storage are

Cookies and similar browser storage are small pieces of text a site can place in your browser. “Essential” items keep a site working between page loads or remember a choice you made; “analytics” items record what you did so the site operator — or a third party — can measure behaviour. This site keeps the first kind of behaviour to a bare minimum and runs none of the second kind.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, no third-party cookies, and no other items. The fonts and scripts the pages need are files served from this site’s own domain; no external request carries any information about you.

What accepting or rejecting changes

Choosing Reject blocks nothing: the site works identically, and the only difference is that the banner will not show again during this visit series, because your choice is remembered. Choosing Accept does the same persistence with the other value. If you clear your browser storage, or use a private window, the banner will appear again the next time you visit.

There is no functionality on this site that waits for consent, because there is nothing here that would need it — no analytics, no trackers, no embeds.
